Hello, I'm Jen, a fantasy artist and poet from Canberra, Australia :)

I love to write about, draw, or paint anything dark, romantic, and otherworldly. I'm fascinated by vampires, witches, death, ghosts, unrequited love, troubled souls, and heartbreak. I find the darker themes in poetry, literature, and art, very intriguing, and something I can understand and express more easily on paper than anything else.

I am the eldest of 4 children (3 little brothers! Argh!). My father was a soldier, and his love of adventure, nature, and terrifying stories of Drop Bears kept my imagination rolling! My mother is a gifted artist, who always encouraged and inspired me endlessly through her own talent, her wonderful creativity, and wicked sense of humour!

I love to read and write poetry, and have had some poems published in anthologies. They can be read here, if you're interested: Jen's Poems. I am inspired in both my writing and artwork by Norse and Celtic mythology, fantasy and pre-Raphaelite art, the works of JRR Tolkien and JK Rowling, gothic rock/metal music (HIM especially! I love them so!), and stories and poetry of impossible love (especially the works of WB Yeats, John Keats, Lord Byron, and song lyrics by Ville Valo).

My favourite band is HIM. I often listen to their music while painting or drawing - they are my greatest muse :) My favourite song of theirs is 'When Love And Death Embrace'. So in love with that song - it has inspired many of my artworks! :)

Loves: My family and friends, Ville Valo, goth rock/metal music, vampire romances, fairy tales, guitar, Sims 2, red roses, rain, movies, goth tears, thunderstorms, poetry, beautiful literature, art, kindness, animals, and lost souls.

Dislikes: Clowns! And Oompa Loompas. *shudders* lol
